Max von Gleichen was born and grew up in a small town in the former GDR. He has lived and worked in Berlin since 2003, following stays in Europe's major cultural cities and his studies of the world's most interesting minds. In seclusion of the memory of these journeys, the imagiantion of his rich childhood experiences and the lust for the splendour of living reality, Max von Gleichen develops with his work a visual masterpiece of historical elements, present appearances and dream elements of a timeless experience.
